I want to note our support for the family of Emily and Charlie Robinson. As you may have read elsewhere, Emily and Charlie finalized their divorce earlier this week. They have three children. Emily, of course, is one member of the Dixie Chicks.

Also - a hearty congratulations to Jewel, who married long-time boyfriend Ty Murray in a private ceremony last night. The couple dated for 10 years and live together on a ranch in Texas.

Kenny Chesney and his team at BNA Nashville are prepping to release (probably the year's hottest single) a new song called "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven." There's no news, period, other than Chesney is in Jamaica to film the video.
Taylor Swift has a new song called "Change" that will be featured during the Beijing Olympic Games. NBC likes the song so much, they are using it as a theme song for their coverage. Swift's publicist let me know that more details and the official announcement will come next week.

Ms. Taylor Swift signed for EIGHT hours today at the CMA Music Festival. Fans lined up in droves to meet the young singer. But get this, Taylor was only supposed to be there for six hours! Saying she wanted to keep the date secret and the wedding private, Evans would only allow that she would be getting married in June. She said she would take Barker's last name, but probably still go by Sara Evans.

Remember a while back John Rich (Big & Rich) said at CRS that labels were allowing "shit" onto country radio. He claimed to not be the maker of any of that "shit." He also has commented about homosexuals and has come to blows with PETA. Now, this:

In case you missed it, on last week's "Idol," Abdul had a momentary lapse of reason and clarity when she proceeded to critique a contestant's performance -- before it actually occurred. Rich, who will serve as a judge and celebrity mentor for "Nashville Star" hopefuls, said, "As an artist, it infuriates me. Well, you're about to find out. Carrie is in Las Vegas filming the prequel to "Before He Cheats" as the video for "Last Name." There's a picture of one of the several sets here. Roman White is behind the boards as director again, meaning that all of Carrie's videos (Jesus, Don't, Cheats, Wasted, Small, Name) have been directed by White.
