Paisley Write Opry Anthem
Opry member Brad Paisley has written and recorded a new theme song for OPRY LIVE on Great American Country television network. The tune showcases Paisley's instrumental prowess as well as his award-winning songwriting ability and will debut this Saturday.Paisley named the theme "From Uncle Jimmy to Justin," referencing Uncle Jimmy Thompson, who played fiddle on the 1925 inaugural broadcast of what would become the Grand Ole Opry, and Paisley's fiddle player Justin Williamson.
"The Drama Kings and I went into the studio last week with the daunting task of coming up with music that encompasses the many generations and styles that are the Grand Ole Opry," says Paisley. "I like what we came up with and I hope the fans out there do, too. I'm very proud to be a part of this and, yes, the Drama Kings is our newly adopted band name."
Paisley is the subject of a 13-page feature in the December issue of Guitar Player. The magazine will be on stands Oct. 30.
