Porter Transfered To Hospice
Grand Ole Opry member Porter Wagoner has been moved to a hospice center, his publicist said Friday. Wagoner has been diagnosed with lung cancer and had spent the last week in intensive care in a hospital in Nashville.
Wagoner, a Country Music Hall of Fame Member, celebrated 50 years with the Opry last May. While in intensive care, he was visited by longtime friend Dolly Parton, who started her career on Wagoner's variety show. Parton vowed to sing with the legend once he returns to the Opry stage.
