After sending two songs to #1 and selling 500,000 copies of his last album, singer Dierks Bentley is working on a new project. Bentley expects to release the album this year.

The singer admits that his album must be "killer" in order to cope with falling album sales and rising digital single downloads.

"I'm just really trying to take my time to get everything right and get the best record, because you don't know how much longer albums are going to be made," Bentley said. "I took the songs back out on the road this fall and we've been putting a couple of those in the live show."

Capitol Nashville will send "Trying To Stop Your Leaving" from Long Trip Alone to radio on Jan. 28. Bentley is on tour this spring with dates already scheduled in February and March.
