Carrie goes #1, will return to 'Idol'
After a short 14 weeks on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart, Carrie Underwood is at #1 with her latest single "All-American Girl." It is the second single from her double-platinum Carnival Ride album. The single hit #1 just twelve weeks after "So Small" fell from the top spot. It is Underwood's fourth consecutive #1 Billboard hit.
Television network FOX announced today that Underwood will take part in their "Idol Gives Back" charity episode. The show will air April 9. Additionally announced performers and appearances by Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Peyton and Eli Manning, Reese Witherspoon and U2's Bono. Last year's event raised over $76 million for various charities.
