John Rich, former lead singer of Lonestar and half of Big & Rich, is a well known conservative. He has now taken his political stance a step further and penned the official theme song for Republican Presidential nominee Senator John McCain.

The song, "Raising McCain," can be downloaded for free on Rich's website, JohnRich.com. You can also find the lyrics to the song there.

"This guy is a hero," Rich said. "He was physically tortured for years, and yet he gets out of bed every day and serves our country for decades."

"I wanted to offer him something that he didn't have, a rally song, one that really captures that maverick spirit," Rich said.

The lyrics reference McCain's "Straight Talk Express," and chronicle his life. Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee for President, is not mentioned in the song.

Rich will sing the song tonight, Aug. 1, at a campaign stop in Panama City, FL. McCain will make an appearance during the concert.
